As a controlled brake, the dynamometer creates a load on the engine. The amount of this brake is controlled using a separate controller according to its braking mechanism. This controller has engine speed input from dynamometer speed sensor and engine torque from its dynamometer and controls the engine based on the following methods:

One of the most used control modes in dynamometers is constant speed. In this case, the engine speed is set as a control point. If the dynamometer load is high and the engine speed is lower than the requested point, the dynamometer automatically reduces the brake until the engine speed reaches the requested speed. In this case, if the engine valve is opened and closed automatically, the speed is controlled on the requested number. This control mode has high reliability and there is no possibility of the engine running away or shutting down under sudden load.
Constant torque
This control mode works by using the engine torque index. This control mode is recommended for heavy diesel engines. This mode is not very reliable and if the requested torque is set inappropriately, it is possible for the engine to shut down or run away.
The engine controller device made by the innovators has a 7-inch touch display panel and this panel has pages for displaying and adjusting coefficients. The display panel has a calibration section and it is possible to calibrate the values. In the input panel, it is possible to define working points manually. Also, it is possible to perform some tests manually without the need for software. This device is used to control various hydraulic, asynchronous and eddy current dynamometers.
